Representation before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO)

For our clients, we file German patent applications, utility model applications, trademark applications and design applications at the GPTO. Furthermore, we arrange for the entry of international (PCT) patent applications into the national phase and assume the representation for German parts of European Patents at the GPTO.

Representation before the European Patent Office (EPO)

At the EPO, we file European and international (PCT) patent applications. Additionally, we arrange for the entry of international (PCT) patent applications into the regional phase at the EPO.

Representation before the Trademarks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union (Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM))

At the OHIM, we file community trademark applications for trademarks and community design applications for design patents effective in the European Union.

For all of the above-mentioned application procedures, we prepare the necessary application documents. Furthermore, we represent and counsel our clients throughout the complete application procedures and, if required, examination procedures until granting of the property rights. The procedures are conducted in German and English language.

We also represent our clients in opposition procedures, cancellation procedures and nullity procedures in all matters concerning industrial property rights before the GPTO, EPO, OHIM and before the courts including the Federal Supreme Court (BGH). Furthermore, our business activities include the enforcement of industrial property rights at the infringement courts.

We also counsel our clients strategically in licensing matters and in the formulation of license agreements and prepare expert opinions with regard to industrial property matters. We carry out patent searches, counsel and represent in the field of the Law on Employees' Inventions and counsel with regard to unprotected inventions and other achievements enriching the state of the art.
